THE MONOLITH

Gurgaon, Haryana

The Monolith is conceived as an exploration of mass, materiality and restraint. Designed for a multi-generational family in Gurgaon, the residence is defined by strong architectural volumes, deep shadow lines and carefully controlled openings that balance privacy with openness.

The architecture derives its character from the interplay of solidity and transparency. Textured stone surfaces, finely detailed screening elements and expansive glazed openings are composed as a series of layered planes, creating a built form that feels substantial yet light.

Internally, the spaces continue this language through a restrained palette of natural stone, timber, textured metals and muted tones. Sculptural lighting, curated artworks and bespoke elements introduce moments of richness while maintaining a sense of calm and continuity throughout the home.

Rather than relying on ornament, the project seeks expression through proportion, light and material depth. The result is a residence that feels timeless, grounded and quietly monumental — a home shaped as much by atmosphere as by architecture.

One small observation from an architectural branding perspective:

“The Monolith” works particularly well because it creates contrast within your emerging residential collection:

It introduces a stronger, more sculptural note into the portfolio and helps broaden the character of the collection without feeling out of place.
