THE RANCHI RESIDENCES
Ranchi, Jharkhand
Conceived as a contemporary residential facade with an emphasis on longevity and restraint, the project explores a calm architectural language shaped through proportion, repetition and material durability.
The brief called for a facade system that could remain visually relevant over time while responding sensitively to maintenance, climate and everyday inhabitation. Deep balconies, horizontal projections and recessed openings create layers of shade and depth across the elevation, helping reduce direct heat gain while establishing a strong visual rhythm.
Rather than relying on expressive formal gestures, the architecture derives identity through consistency, shadow and carefully controlled material contrast. Warm textured surfaces are balanced against darker linear elements to create a facade that feels grounded, timeless and composed within its urban context.
The project attempts to balance practicality with architectural clarity – creating a residential environment that is both enduring and quietly contemporary.
